Who are the organisers of HIM conference?

We are a team of students who came together from the different medical schools because of our desire to see our generation respond to God's call to missions. With the approval of the Christian Medical & Dental Fellowship (CMDF), we are organising this conference under the covering of CMDF Student Ministry. Our commitment is to be interdenominational, inter-ministry, and interdisciplinary.

Why is this a stay-in conference?

The vision of this conference is not just to build head knowledge with conference messages, but to build a community that will journey together in our 'yes' to God's calling. It is our hope and prayer that this mini retreat at Oldham Hall will give us the space and time to seek the Lord on our own and share our hearts with new friends from different healthcare disciplines!

Question 3

How is the conference fee used?

Accepted Answer

The conference fee of $70 (students) / $120 (working professionals) is a heavily subsidised amount that will help cover the cost of accommodation, catering, materials, logistics, and transport. 
 
If you need help with the conference fee, please go right ahead with registration and drop us an email at cmdfstudentministry@gmail.com to let us know your situation. We will do our best to find sponsorships for you, in the strictest confidence.

Question 4

I would really love to attend the conference, but I would be on shift/call on Friday. What should I do?  "

Accepted Answer

15 June (Friday) is a public holiday thanks to Hari Raya Puasa, but we know you may still be on shift/call that day! For students, it is possible to make a swap with one of your colleagues. If you are not able to make a swap or take that day off, we will try our best to have the plenary sessions recorded for your viewing!

Question 5

Is this conference only about missions overseas?

Accepted Answer

Our dream is to see young people like us mobilised to fulfill the Great Commission, not only in cross-cultural settings but also right here in Singapore! Few of us will be able to go long-term to the mission field overseas within the next few years, so we hope to equip ourselves for the mission that we can fulfill right where we are. Check out our workshops that explore marketplace ministry and reverse missions!

Question 6

I'm not in a course directly related to healthcare. Can I still join?

Accepted Answer

Yes!! 
 
If you are not studying or working in healthcare currently, but have a passion for medical missions or health-related work, please join us! 
 
If you have not entered university yet but are keen on a healthcare-related course, or wish to explore healthcare as one of your options, you are welcome to join us too! We hope and pray that you will benefit from speaking to missionaries and new friends who are in healthcare. 
 
We are excited for the diverse missions opportunities you will discover at our Missions Fair!

Question 7

What if I cannot stay for the whole conference?

Accepted Answer

If you cannot stay in overnight, or if you will be missing a portion of the conference programmes, we still welcome you to join us for the programmes you are able to come for. 
 
You can indicate this under Section 2 of the registration form. Under "Attendance", please select "Others..." and let us know the details! We will do our best to help you benefit as much as possible from your time with us.
