Dr Goh Wei Leong 

Dr Goh Wei-Leong serves as the chairman of the board for Mercy Teams International and is a member of the global board of Operation Mobilisation International.

​

In addition to being a family physician, Dr Goh co-founded and chairs HealthServe, a NGO reaching out to migrant workers.

​

At NUS YLL School of Medicine, he is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Family Medicine, Department of Medicine. He designed and teaches an interactive Family Medicine module on migrant and global health for third year medical students giving them an overview of healthcare systems and migrant health.

​

He is an active volunteer with the Muhammadiyah Welfare Home, chairs the Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship (Singapore) and is the South-East Asia Regional Secretary of the International Christian Medical and Dental Association. An elder of his church, Katong Presbyterian, Dr Goh is also in the Micah Singapore leadership team. 

Dr Raj

Dr. Raj’s background is in medicine, public health and education. He is currently head of medical services at HealthServe, an NGO with a focus on migrant workers in Singapore. His interests are healthcare access for vulnerable populations, quality improvement, and global health education. He has been involved in post-conflict health systems strengthening in Timor-Leste and Sierra Leone.

Dr David Tan

Dr David Tan is the Executive Director of Wycliffe Singapore. David and his wife Sharon, together with their two daughters, were involved in cross-cultural work overseas from 2003-2013. Following the first 2 years of national language learning, David and Sharon were assigned to an unreached people group. They spent some time to gain competence in the language and culture of the people, and then pioneered the start of a Bible translation project. David also supervised other language teams in his region for several years. Upon returning to Singapore, David became the Missions Pastor at Queenstown Baptist Church from 2014-2015. In Feb 2016, he took on the appointment of Executive Director of Wycliffe Singapore.

In his previous career, David spent several years working in the public sector, NUS and PSA Corporation. David graduated in Physics from Oxford University and later obtained his PhD in Mathematics from Cambridge University, UK. He also has a Graduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics from Asia SIL and an M.Div from Biblical Graduate School of Theology (BGST).

Dr Richard 

After graduating from NUS in 1990, Dr Richard obtained MMED in Public Health before he and his family left for the Middle East with Operation Mobilisation. They spent 2 years learning the local language before he worked as a Community Doctor in poor, isolated mountain villages. He is currently a Family Physician working in Choa Chu Kang Polyclinic. He and his wife Chiew Lian currently worship in Geylang Evangelical Free Church.

Dr N (name withheld)

Dr N currently works at a public hospital in Singapore and volunteers at HealthServe.  Previously, she lived and studied at an international school in Hong Kong, an Ivy League university in the United States, and a medical school in Australia.  She spent a decade living and working in a town in outback Australia, where she was one of the very few doctors in 30 years to speak an Aboriginal language, and dealt with third world diseases in a first world country.  She has specialist qualifications in Rural and Remote Medicine and also in Public Health Medicine.  Last year she lived and worked in the Himalayas for 4 months.  She tries to be vegan but she also loves eating kangaroo tails and she has been part of Scottish Country Dancing groups in 4 countries over the past 20 years.  

A/Prof Stephen

A/Prof Stephen is faculty member in dentistry, and his research has earned international attention. In 2017, he had the opportunity to share Psalm 139:14 on BBC World News, in connection with his finding that eczema is linked with early childhood caries. In addition to involvement in ICMDA meetings, A/Prof Stephen has been with the annual short-term mission team since 2003, struggling together with students/colleagues to understand what it means to live a worthy life in and through suffering, ridicules, and prosperity. Since 2003, he has been worshipping in the Mount Olives Church of God.

Mr Kyi Thwin

Kyi Thwin is currently serving at World Vision Singapore. A strong passion for humanitarian issues and development work led him to join the organisation in 2000 in Myanmar. As a field worker with World Vision Myanmar for more than 8 years, Kyi Thwin was directly involved in supporting needy and fragile communities, and empowering them to build lives of dignity and independence. He has experience implementing development programmes in a range of capacities, including that of an Area Development Programme Manager.

Ms Ong BC

Ms Ong was a dental staff nurse with the school dental service until 1983. She served 2 years with OM on the ship MV Doulos as a dental assistant. In 1990, she joined WEC International Singapore and served in a dental clinic among refugees. Later, she went into the war-torn country where these refugees were fleeing from, teaching about diet & health until 2009. Since her return home, she has been involved in mentoring, equipping, and providing member care. She is also involved in reaching out to refugees in a nearby country.
